If you’re a regular customer to Enterprise you may well have some special deals offered to you for your loyalty – when you hire a car you can give them your customer number to see if you’re entitled to a discount. However, if you’re flying to Shannon Airport you will find that it is one of the few airports in the United Kingdom that doesn’t have a dedicated Enterprise stand on site. If you’re still desperate to go with Enterprise then the closest place you can go is to Limerick, just over the border in Ireland. Opening times for this office are 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12noon on Saturdays – the office is closed on Sundays. Now you’re over the border, pricing will be in Euros and you will need to convert your currency to pay for your car hire, or face an expensive charge from your bank to pay by card for your hire.

Prices for the smallest class of car, the mini, start at 30eur a day and you will get a car similar to the Ford Ka. An economy car, such as the Ford Fiesta or similar, will set you back a little more, maybe as little as an extra couple of Euros a day. You then jump up into the large compact and intermediate classes, where it is possible to get a decent saloon car for a little over 40eur a day. Enterprise also offer specialist cars such as large people carriers, 4x4s, vans and luxury saloon cars such as large BMWs and Mercedes-Benzs, but the availability of such cars should be checked before visiting as they aren’t commonly stocked in the Limerick base.
